Challenges Against State's Concealed Carry Restrictions Brought to Court

A federal appeals court in New York City is scheduled today to hear several challenges to the state's new restrictions on concealed carry.

The law prohibits concealed carry in "sensitive locations" which include many public places.

It was passed last year after the U.S. Supreme Court threw out the state's old gun laws and ruled citizens had a broad right to carry firearms.

Lower courts ruled the new state law is contrary to the Supreme Court ruling. For now, most of the law is still in effect
