A Rochester man has been convicted of a murder charge in a shooting that killed a teenager.
It happened in August 2021, when Douglas Smith showed up at a cookout at a stranger's home on Hague Street and got into an argument with a guest that escalated into a gunfight.
Prosecutors say the gunfire killed a bystander, 16-year-old Manuel Smith.
Smith will be sentenced on May 30th.
The other man involved in the gunfight, Johnny Rodriguez, pleaded guilty to a gun crime and will be sentenced in July.
