The Hochul administration reportedly is looking at possibly banning the sale of all tobacco products in the state.
The New York Post reports the state Health Department has commissioned a survey to measure support for a total ban.
The survey of local health officials and politicians asks for opinions on a total ban in ten years, or a ban on sales to people born after a certain date, or whether there should be a limit on the number of stores selling tobacco.
Governor Hochul has not publicly endorsed a tobacco ban but has been publicly pushing for a ban on menthol cigarettes.
