Princess Anne, King Charles' younger sister, was taken to the hospital after a "scary incident" occurred at her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire, England, on Sunday night (June 23).
According to E!News, the 73-year-old sustained minor injuries, including (but possibly not limited to) a concussion. Buckingham Palace shared a statement regarding the current status of the beloved royal's health on Monday morning (June 24).
"Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery. The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery."
While an exact cause of injury has yet to be elaborated upon, it is known that the Princess will not be tending to her royal duties for the rest of the week including a "June 25 banquet in honor of Japanese Emperor Naruhito." Just last week, Princess Anne attended the annual Trooping the Colour parade on horseback alongside the rest of the Royal Family, including her elder brother, both appearing to be in good spirits.
Princess Anne continues to recover at Southmead Hospital in Bristol as the world sends their thoughts for a quick return to health.
