If there was one thing I learned from being as close as I care to be to wildlife in Yellowstone National Park and Custer State Park in South Dakota, you should stay away. At least 25 yards from bison.
While watching animals from afar along the roads in those parks, I observed a lot of people who clearly thought that the bison and other wildlife wouldn't notice them.
Always assume that they not only see you, but that they are really angry at you, especially if their young are nearby.
This woman is lucky to be alive. This happened in Texas. The woman was hospitalized but is otherwise ok.
